I found this on the NWN Vault.

http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/scripts/data/1034569520342.shtml

I thought it might work out, This way even IF you can actually get into the guild somehow you still have to have a password to enter certain room. And we could use it for something like a room only the Guild Leader(s) can get into.

Eh, its an okay idea, but its fairly unnecessary. People can't get into other guilds unless they exploit (such as wall pushing) or unless someone accidentally leaves the door open. Regardless, even if they get in there, as of now, it isn't going to do a whole lot.

Hmmm, I was in a LotR module not so long ago, it had the "Doors of Moria" and if one would type "Mellon" (Elven for friend) the doors would open. I really like that idea.

Hmm, It's nice, but perhaps it shouldn't be used for stuff like that, but more for things in quests and such(as Ecusidor said)  Reply with quote

Actually, they are NOT being inaccurate, since the fellowship really does need to speak the word "melon" out loud, not just the word "friend", since Frodo asked Gandalf what friend was in elvish, and when they said THAT the door opened.

Yes, in all my books they say Mellon, not just Friend. (Silmarillion and all the rest.)... So they were pretty correct in the movie of FotR... icon_lol.gif

The reason for using the Elvish word, "Mellon" rather than the common-tongue "friend" is that the doors were sealed with Elvish magic, before the animosity between the Elves and the Dwarves came to a head. Elvish magic only responds to dialects of Elvish. Besides, that sort of plot device makes those kinds of puzzles more of a challenge and, consequently, more interesting and fullfilling.

oh and on a side note, yes I'm an avid LotR fan icon_biggrin.gif
