Paying out? Perhaps. But it doesn't change the fact that it was an incredibly lame *played* war. Lowbie's getting killed, the thing was almost like PKing, because it was "Leave or Die", and not to forget; the lameassed biatch/es who did nothing but disarm-steal all the time. I got quite furious.

Kindo, indeed there was alot lamassness, but it mostly rumanos and mira, rumanos killed the lowbies and mira disarmed people, but i think its evened out when conrad made jon and TP invul and jon went on a disarming spree with hands, stealing everyones weapons instantly

Anyway, we did not want the lowbies there at the war, its just not healthy, thats why we wanted them to leave, we also had to organize and such

Oh sure ... not a problem ... and this is from the ooc/dm perspective

Big fight, BIG fight ... lots of death, disarms, respawns, and enough exploits and lame behaviour for all. Threw in a lot of KW guards and such, and initially the battle see-sawed, but finally went in one direction. In the end, Jonathan and Lewonas called upon Tempus for a supreme blessing to turn the tide of the battle and while it turned for a time ... such divine intervention is fleeting and they, too, eventually fell. Basically the Dark Alliance had all takers outnumbered for the most part and just seemed to be enlisting more as time went along ... forces loyal to Kravenwood eventually were just too outnumbered.

To put an end to the conflict, I announced that the battle was over, the Kwood forces had fallen and the Alliance was victorious.

Of course I presume that means little because, as I said, I saw enough lameness to assure me that this will just go on and on. Folks die, they respawn, run back as always ... all that stuff. I have to admit that while I tried to let people do their thing with this, it just proved once again how lame people will be. It started out with good roots and good action ... and I credit Ogt for doing his best at keeping those involved aware of my main concerns ... i.e. that general passersby be allowed to get thru and not to pick on the lower level people just trying to play elsewhere. I also give some credit to Drud for keeping himself in check most of the time.

Even though this was repeated numerous times, some of them still did it and continued to do it well after things were "well in hand." The whole marching people out of the lowlands and KW path "or die" bit is kinda weak ... especially when you have a bunch of level 20s doing to people 5 and 6 (or more) levels lower. The use of the timestop/horrid bug was also quite readily in use and rather lame. This is why we have the constant issue with evil role play because, as I have said before, folks won't take a "we've won, we're done" approach ... it turns into a "kill them, use your 1 level of rogue to PP them, disarm all the dead people!" and so on. There was enough relogging and respawning for a days worth of action, needless to say.

And of course I got a myriad of complaints about this or that ... "you made them plot!" "uin booted me" "kindo paralyzed me and PPed me" and other things. I look at it this way ... war is hell, and losses happen and a wipe is soon coming. People can whine and cry all you like about this or that ... I recall Mira being especially voiciferous ... but you won, so lick your wounds and enjoy the victory. Oh yeah, that's right, you really don't get anything for winning, do you? Hmm ... well, that does tend to be the problem when you're doing things that, basically as has been discussed a million times before, are logically possible in the first place. Both sides proved once again that death means nothing and people will just run back and re-enter the fight.

In conclusion, it turned out the way it did because I decided to fight fire with fire, as it were ... battle was won, but at what price? Lost a bunch of gear or whatever? Oh well ... nobody ever said war was pretty, fair, or without cost. Some of you, rather than whining, should be happy that I didn't just screw over your characters for your generally shitty approach to the whole thing. And no, Drud, I am not talking about you, either. As far as the terms of the victory and whatever else ... these things tend to be rather temporary anyhow, much like death.

The Unholy mace was taken from me by Mira, and i still hate her for doing that... but all in all i think i won... as i came out more or less even in items and gold...
and learned more about properly taking down people

I came out even in items/money too, lame ass Jon did steal my staff, but someone disarmed him so i stole his sword, so we are even, but a trade would be nice

but still, very VERY lame...

The Alliance people (including Cain and Rellik) died SEVERAL times and just came back... if that was a GOOD RPed war.. the alliance would have surely lost...

Anyway.. nice effort...

Gesh is going to solve this problem in Rebirth... but until then... we could use that idea...

Hmm, I dunno ... if we go back at the start of it, the Kwood crew had it pretty well in hand to begin with, not super-much, but decently so ... but the invading forces just kept coming back and bringing friends with them. That's when it definitely turned the other way ... and then both sides were respawning like mad, so it hardly made any difference any more. In the end it definitely seemed that the Alliance forces were more up to the fight and approached it a bit more strategically (not that either side was very calculating) ... enough so that they were generally able to hold their lines better.

I really DO need to think up some sort of "rules" for war on this sort of thing. Of course no one will ever be satisfied and those not happy with how they're doing will just do whatever they want anyhow.
