We all know that some time soon the server will be wiped.As far as I know there will be some intresting changes.So much that it will be like a new day.In keeping with that I suggest we wipe the Forums at the same time lets everything start fresh.Noobs in game and Noobs on the forum.
If not why not

Perhaps because we've apparently chosen to RP it (the wipe) as nothing had changed, and as such, destroying all the history would be a mistake?

I understand that .But theres no reason people cant start again and those that been here know the history.Theres also been a lot of ill feeling generated on the forums lets start all new.I think the changes will be greater than you think in effect leading to a new history.
there is also a lot of garbage that need to be removed.Get rid of my Grandmaster class I dont mind .
If the Guilds wish too keep theres fine but the non private forums I see little reason for keeping them

The forums holds more than just words. They hold our history and stories from long gone times. Wiping the forums would be to deny your own past.

it's not the same thing. The forums are a part of each and everyone of us. We started our lives here. We cannot just erase it and hope to keep the feeling in some books. Preposterous.

up to the guys in charge, might make sense, might not.... i voted no anyways... if spammers that posted 300 words in 1 thread wanna keep that garbage around for all eternity, let em post count means very little anyways...

Not a bad idea. I like the concept of a fresh start after the wipe. Just deleting all the historical posts would be too great a loss however. Perhaps lock them all on wipe day, and move them over to a new area exactly as-is, to be accessed by a link at the top of the newly wiped forum? A mirror image of the forums labeled "pre-wipe history" or some such, all locked. That way Glorin could retain his forum supremacy. May not be feasible... just a compromise idea.

Please, people. As was said earlier here, this is a log of the History of Dysotopia from ALL of the players' perspectives! I could see maybe Archiving the really old stuff (like over 6 months), but Wiping?

I would say that it seems like a lot of memories and whatnot here. I would suggest maybe the compromise. Keep some of the forums, especially in-character and stuff about wars etc. as history of Dysotopia. Legends that we can talk about and roleplay.

Some of the forums like suggestions and chatter I think might be able to go.

I'd be more of a mind to figure out a way to eliminate the crap off the forums and keep the good stuff ... as despite the terrible signal to noise ratio, there ARE very important and informative posts/threads out there. That would be a massive undertaking, however ... perhaps even impossible. If that is the general accepted case, then I'd pick leave it alone rather than wipe all posts.

DON'T WIPE THIS!!!
It's interesting and nice to have all of the old stuff still around, so you can look up things.
I know I checked the forums a couple of times to see if anything had been said about it, or to see if I could find an old post to see what it was.
So don't wipe it.

Why wipe it? Is there ANY reason why we should wipe it? I don't see any reason to be honest. There is lots of stuff in here that can be useful, and it's also nice to sbe able to see all of the previous stuff. Remember how much of this would still be important after the wipe....almost everything.

Why should we wipe it? I don't know...Because of the server wipe? Doesn't make sense, only the IC forum COULD be wiped, but since we're playing on anyway, that doesn't matter either.
