Well i say yes...
I think that it shouldnt be allowed to have 1 lvl rogue and rest fighter and that kind...if you multiclass you should have 5 of rogue and 15 fighter..
If not it is to easy.
Either you lvl to 20 cleanly or you do 15 one class and 5 another class, or 10 + 5 + 5 etc.

First of all it will be pretty much impossible to reach those uber leet levels and powers. Items higher than +3 will be very very rare, and leveling up will be much slower. I don't see a reason to make it a rule, really. Guys doing it anyway, will just be so hated and lamed. Or something. Don't let it get to you.

Yes, it is easy to become an ub3r 1337 f1gh73r. If you're like me then you use h4x0rz that can give you 1 hit kills. Go to http://dans-elf-translator.cjb.net and click on the link from there to download them.

Errr, Ron has some serious lamer problems here. Anyway, don't go about discussing how people can become the best fighters, it's lame.
Just play.

Oh, and ron: "this is what you are looking for"

And one more thing: DON'T USE THE WORD HACKERS LIKE THAT!!! I HATE YOU PEOPLE!

Dunno if your being sacrastic there, but there is a deity that allows paladin/rogues as scouts.  Reply with quote

Forgive my ignorance, but why is one level rogue and the rest fighter a great combination?

Why should it be banned?

At the first level of Rogue, you get bookoo Skill Points. Some people think the combo should be banned cuz then you get tons of Skill Points AND Feats. But I think it would be a pretty common combo in RP terms. Someone starts out as a roughish character/thief, but quickly realizes they are better suited for and enjoy front-line melee.

Forgive my ignorance again but it doesn't seem horribly unbalacing. If a person take a thief level at say level 1 (for skill points) and again at level 20 (for Use magical device) and say a level of Monk (for cleave, and evasion) and a level of bard (for song) and a level of paladin etc..

Then they won't be as good a figher.

I can't see it being a game breaker, and who really cares?

I'm playing a 4th level Cleric, who I think is becoming disillusioned with the clergy, I think I'll try some different classes to see what they do.

I'm disillusioned with the clergy because all the things that clerics do can be had by other classes through spells, scrolls and books. Anyone can revive, heal or buff. Clerics can't fight as well as fighters.

Thanks for the input.

Can you give me your opinion on my new observation/hypothesis.

To progress in abilities you must multiclass Rogues right?

It looks like there is no reason for a rogue to progress past level 10 or 13 in rogue levels. (Role playing aside of course)

Nadda ,

Zilch,

Zippo.

Why?

No effective skill increases that will make a difference in play.

And....

You already have the one or two rogue specific feats that are any good at levels 10 and 13.

What do you think?

Comments?

I have always preferred pure classes, or an interesting mix of classes. When it comes to rogue, I always go all the way.

It is true that you could earn more "power" if you had only 10 or so rogue levels, and the rest multiclassed. But try to play cool instead. Pure class means you are a master in what you do. And that's cool.

Long live level 20 rogues!

In paper and pencil any feats or skills not used when you level are LOST.

You can't bank anything.

Coral looks up and considers the concept of a Master Rogue....

Not that I'm an expert... but getting to the highest level of Rogue would seem to me nearly impossible ... A huge amount of respect would be gained from me and others if you could do it ...

I am almost positive I read otherwise in one of the wizard's of the coast faqs. I'll see if I can find it for you.
