In NWN, all int is used for is Skill points and Wiz spells.
Does it do other stuff in PnP? |

| Yes, in PnP it allows you to behave correctly and stuff. But other than RP stuff, which makes you able to talk and think, it doesn't do anything. |

I use it as a means to rp my character (a low int character would act dumb of course)...and well when it comes to my Int 32 illusionist, well that's a little tougher cause that's godlike intelligence, but I try to play her as smart as I can. All in good rp experience and learning. _________________ Caster McFear is the greatest actor there never was....oops...wrong line...i mean greatest actor there EVER was.

in PnP, there's a lot more skills, so int is more important. You really will have a hard time getting away with a 6 or 8 int character in a PnP game, and I usually make sure I have at least a 14 in it, no matter the class. _________________ Random Quote Selector wrote:

| Spellcraft can be pretty important. Remember that for every 5 points you have there, you get a +1 bonus to ALL your saves. |

I know people always tell me I'm wrong, but I still think Monks are a bit too powerful. Just looking at all the "free" stuff they get makes me feel sick.
1d20 base damage with striking at +3 enhancement
7-9 attacks
High AC (for WIS)
Speed (50% increase just like haste)
Immune to Poison/Disease
Spell Resistance 30
50% concealment (that's like 50% of attacks missing!)
Immunity to Mind spells
Damage Red 20/+1
PLUS all these free feats like Cleave, Imp Knock, Imp Evasion etc etc.
I am sorry, but can someone remind me of what the drawbacks are, again? |

d8 hp, too many helpful stats (making it harder to have a monk that's amazing and still be able to take a hit) 2 skill points/level, no weapon spec, 2 less equipment slots... anything else you need? _________________ Matthijs says:

can't wear armor
can't wear shields
can't be a nonlawful alignment
base attack bonus is equal to a rogue, not a fighter
crummy skill selection (hide, move silently, listen, concentration)
discipline not a class skill
poor hit dice, d8, I think _________________ Random Quote Selector wrote:

the drawback is that i kicked a not so powergamed monk's ass without being hit.
i really think a fighter can well enough beat a monk |

LoL That was me, in case you didn't know.
Monk's are nice, but not so good. They are supposed to kick general spellcaster ass(which they do, even when the spellcaster stacks unholy auras(huh, Redstorm?))
But they are NOT supposed to kick fighter ass.
The fighter is THE fighting class, nothing beats them, because nothing should. A barbarian is designed to take an incredible amount of hits, but a fighter is more technical.
ANyway, if you want to make a monk, do it because of their beliefs and stuff, because they are not that good anymore in Dyso(most of their feats can be chosen by others as well through equipment, and spell resistance is near useless. They can't beat a fighter in close combat, and spellcasters aren't a problem for a fighter anyway with all the resistances and immunities) _________________

Yes, I do, but it was solved a while ago. Redstorm(Cain) was attacking me, while having unholy auras stacked, I tried to avoid him, and when he attacked AGAIN I did win. _________________

He was? I didn't know he ver got banned, I did know he got kicked out of LGoG twice(so he was a really bad boy), but not that he got banned.
Anyway, that must've been about two-three months ago, a couple of weeks before that anti-ele shield stacking script, so it's all done with now. _________________
