I'm a 2/3 fighter/wizard, but my base attack bonus is +0?? Why? I took the two fighter levels so that I'd be a decent melee opponent, but they're not doing anything!!
I should have +3! (+2 from fighter, +1 from 3 levels of wizard)

Yes if that was all that affects your bonus.

Maybe your strength is 8 or 6 where youll get a -2, -3 penalty to hit

my str is 14, I get a +2 ab with a non-magical longsword.
All I get is my +2 str bonus, nothing else.

Attack bonuses does not stack. A level 2 fighter has +2 attack bonus, a level 3 wizard has +1. So you won't have +3 in total. You will just have +2. Only the highest.

Makes sense. Now riddle me this: I'm a lv.2 Ranger, lv.3 Fighter, last level taken was Fighter. I have a Composite Longbow +1, and Weapon Focus w/ Longbow. My Str is 14 (+2), Dex is 18 (+4).

When I go from Unarmed to equipping my Longbow, my attack only goes up by 4, not 6!!! What gives? I only have a Chain Shirt on (Max Dex Bonus: 4)! Help! It's like it's using my Str bonus, not my Dex!

Let's see...Ranger and fighter have same attack bonus, so you would have the one of the 3 fighter, which is +3. Then you have +2 for your str when using unarmed, that will be +5 when unarmed. When using Longbow +1, you would have +4 for your dex, +1 for focus, and +1 for the magic of the bow. That makes it (3+4+1+1=9) So your attack bonus is +5 when unarmed and +9 when using bow. Right?

Attack bonus of multiclass chars WILL stack.
AB works like this: Add both ABs of the single classes, and everytime you reach +6 (unmodified) you get another attack.
That way you can calculate the resulting AB of your multiclass combination AND the number of attacks. ( -> PHB p55 Multiclass Characters, Base Attack Bonus)

In the manual, which column do you read from? I know it says CLASS TOTAL LEVEL, but which column? I mean Fighters and Wizards have different columns, so which one do you read from when multiclassing those two?

You treat each of your classes just like you would do with a single class char, and then add the ab together

example:
you're wiz 4 fighter 5:
wiz 4 gives you an attack of 2
fighter 5 gives you 5
your multiclass char (fighter6/wiz4) will have an AB of 2+6=8
as this is greater than 6, you gain a second attack, your attack will be +8/+3

You should have 4 base atk bonus as a 2wiz/3fighter.

The fighter part and the mage part would stack, just like a rogue/fighter. Some sort of weird bug.

Yeah. Me have dumb ass also. I figured out my own problem just a little bit ago.

When unarmed, my attack is +7. That is, lv.2 Ranger = +2, lv.3 Fighter = +3, Str. is 14 = +2, total is +7.

I equip my +1 bow, and I get the +4 for my 18 Dex, and +1 for Weapon Focus

Actually, attack bonuses DO stack. But they shouldn't. That's why that stupid monk bug worked.

yeah they should.. and its not a bug, in pnp you can get the 10 attack monk as well.
