Got a weird one here that I can't figure out.
Have a 15 level cleric with wisdom of 17, so I should be able to cast up to 7th level. Here's the question. I put on a periapt of wisdom +3, bringing my wisdom up to 20. I should be able to cast 8th level spells at that level of wisdom, but I can't. Anybody know what this could be? Looking at the player guide and the NWN manual I should be able to cast 8th level with the periapt on. Thanks in advance for your responses. _________________ Izboliek Vulame -- Knight, Order of the Shining Blade

it's only natural wisdom. so the periapt doesn't count towards what level spell you can use.
if your cleric has 17 wisdom without modifiers then you can only cast level 7 spells.
better take a point in wisdom at your next level |

| He's right, guitarrrrrrr. Otherwise you could, say, put on 2 Rings of Clear Thought +5 when your Wizard leveled and....HOO-AH! |

Is this just for Cleric's or something, because doing the same thing with my Pally allows me to cast a higher level of spell.
I'm ok with it if it is that way (well of course I am...what am I going to do, change it? ), but I don't get it for roleplay. If in real-life there was such a thing as a periapt of wisdom and I put it on, my wisdom level would then be xx (20 in this case)....as in I would actually be 20 levels (or whatever term) of wise.....so I would think it would work. Just thinking out loud. Thanks for the response. _________________ Izboliek Vulame -- Knight, Order of the Shining Blade

What is your Paladin's Wisdom when unmodified? Remember than some spell levels for Paladin's and Rangers can be achieved just if they have a high enough Wisdom, even if they wouldn't "normally" get spells there, because of the high Wisdom granting them extra spells. This is noted on the table in the back of the manual as a '0' in the slot. _________________ "Great warrior? Ah! Wars not make one great!"
